CONFIDENCE

What is confidence?

Is it to be always strong from the inside and outside?

NO!

The word "confidence" means "to trust"

To trust in oneself!
To take a step into the unknown. To take a risk.
To trust, no matter what happens, I can handle it.

That is confidence. To trust yourself.

How much do you trust yourself?

I HATE SELFIES

That's what I said a few weeks ago to a friend.

We were talking about photography.
She likes to take selfies and is good at it.

I told her that I hate selfies.

She encouraged me to do selfies.
So I accepted the challenge.
I am a photographer after all! And I want to experience every style of photography.
Many selfies! And She always gave me feedback and encouraged me to continue.

It felt very uncomfortable in the beginning. VERY! I almost stopped.
Not anymore.
Now I like it.

Saying sometimes YES to things we say NO, can be rewarding.
Maybe if we say YES, it won't change anything. But maybe it does!

YES YES YES!

Thank you, Montserrat for challenging me.

What is the next challenge?

LUCK

How do you think about LUCK?

I used to think, LUCK is something just happens - I have no control.

Today I realized: LUCK depends on YOU!

This golden pillow with it's reflections inspired to pull out my camera.

DESIRE: I wanted to take a creative photo which will make me happy
PLANNING: Where I can take a photo now in my house?
OPPORTUNITY: I found a good location with perfect light conditions
ACTION: I throw the dice many many times
PATIENCE: It took me many attempts to get the right shot

ALL those things made LUCK happen!

You have to desire, plan, find an opportunity, take action and be patient.
AND
LUCK will come to YOU!

GOOD LUCK!

THANK YOU

This photo is very symbolic for my journey as a photographer.

It is one of my favorites!
Those are my parents in the water.
Without them this photo would have never happenend.
Without them my story as a photographer would have never happened.
700 weeks ago my dad gave me a little compact camera to a very difficult episode of my life.

700 weeks of:

- seeing the beauty around me
- exploring new places
- being more curious about life
- seeing regular things with different eyes
- meeting wonderful people
- being in the moment
- becoming more attentive and appreciative of details
- training my imagination
- seeing people, situations, myself and my past with different eyes

The camera was and is a powerful tool in my life.

Thank you Dotore & Papo for your support and believing in me!

I wish I can give this gift to someone along my path. Who will it be?

TIME

tim_20181128-084410_1

You can have anything you want.

You can have more and more of anything you want.
But there is one thing you can't have more of: TIME.

This picture was taken a long time ago.
In the beginning of my journey as a photographer.

Wow, time moves very fast. We don't notice, maybe because we don't want to think about our limitations?

I want to make myself aware that my time is less each day.
It sounds sad, but it will force me to be aware not to waste time.

And use it the best way possible, the most valuable, irreplaceable thing called TIME.

"Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does."

WALLS

We all have them. Some more some less.

We protect ourselves from being hurt.
We hide our weakness, hide our fears. We hide our feelings.
BUT WE ALL have weakness, fears and feelings. WE ALL DO!
I noticed if I put down my walls, the other person is putting their walls down as well.
And that is beautiful.
We are strong by being vulnerable by choice.
Of course, it can happen that we get hurt.
But pain is only temporarily. And it is worth it.
Because walls keep away not only the bad things but also keep away the good things.

Lower your walls and people around you will do the same.
And that is beautiful!

PHOTOGRAPHER

"Every photograph someone takes is also a type of self-portrait reflecting them, because each contains information about the person who made it. Its visual contents metaphorically represent what was important enough to the photographer's eyes at that moment that they chose to freeze it permanently. Even though they may well not be in that picture themselves, every step of choosing where, when, who, how, and why to take any photograph says as much about its creator as it does about the subject matter being recorded on film."

"Live life to the fullest, and focus on the positive."

"Sometimes the wrong train takes you to the right station."

"Whenever I'm asked about the greatest lesson I've learned, my response is: Happiness is a choice I make."

"Jump, and you will find out how to unfold your wings as you fall."

"The way we experience the world around us is a direct reflection of the world within us."

PHOTOGRAPHY IS POWERFUL

It changed my life. Once I was lost in my life without a direction. Without hope.

Escaping reality with parties, alcohol & drugs.

My dad gave me a little compact camera. This day was the first day of my new life.
It is crazy looking back how that day changed everything.

It opened my tired eyes and made me curious about life.
The hunger to explore and to understand never stopped until today.

Also because of photography I got to known to wonderful & intersting people.

Laura told me that long time ago one photo of her changed her course of life.

Photography is powerful. Behind and in front of the camera.

"Whatever we put our attention on will grow stronger in our life."

"Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit."

"The amount of good luck coming your way depends on your willingness to act."

"Don't hurry. Don't worry. You're only here for a short visit. So don't forget to stop and smell the roses."

You can't be happy unless you're unhappy sometimes…..
